Gartner Inc., a leading industry analyst firm has listed digital transformation vendor Mavim as a Representative Vendor in its October 2018 “Market Guide for Business Ecosystem Modeling and Analysis Software”*. Business ecosystem modeling is defined by Gartner as a “dynamic network of entities (people, business and things) interacting with each other to create and exchange sustainable value for participants.”
According to Gartner, this is a nascent functionality that is currently emerging to support the long-established academic concept of business ecosystems. Today, this market will primarily target Enterprise Architects looking to further establish an outside in view of their external relationship. This helps support initiatives like “Customer First, Patient First, Citizen First.” However, as this market develops, Gartner expects vendors to address additional use cases such as strategy execution, blockchain relationships, and fraud detection.
The CEO of Mavim, Jean-Jacques Vossen, noted that “Mavim is pleased to have been recognized as a representative vendor in this emerging market. We have a number of customers--in particular in the Government and Financial Services industries--who are looking to reduce the complexity involved in orchestrating myriad external suppliers and services. Mavim continues to focus on enhancing ease of use at the senior management level. Relative to previous years, Mavim has upped the capabilities of the platform by introducing process mining to help close the strategy to execution loop. Not only are organizations supported in modeling and analyzing their business ecosystems, but they will now also be supported with fact-based insight into how information passes through the ecosystem in the “as is” state. This has given Mavim a strong position among large consulting firms and system integrators.
