Mavim recognized for second time in Gartner Market Guide for Customer Journey Analytics

Customer Journey

Gartner Inc., a leading industry analyst firm has listed digital transformation vendor Mavim as a Representative Vendor in its February 2019 “Market Guide for Customer Journey Analytics”*. This is the second mention for Mavim in this Market Guide, which covers a diffuse market that covers many different problem areas related to customer journeys.

One of the reasons that this market has struggled to become more concrete is reflected by the struggle to find ownership for customer journey projects. Gartner notes, “By definition, customer journeys stretch across multiple channels and, therefore, CJA solutions typically involve multiple departments and business units within a company. These departments commonly include marketing, sales, customer service, finance and supply chain. This means determining ownership of a CJA solution can be difficult, and alignment among disparate business units is critical for a successful implementation.”

The CEO of Mavim, Jean-Jacques Vossen, noted that “Mavim is honored to have been included as a representative vendor for the second year running.” He also looked to give credit where credit is due, saying, “Our customers and partners are the ones who nudged us into this direction. It was their innovative use of our existing functionality that was able to deliver this value. Our product and focus is on the democratization and dissemination of knowledge within an organization in order to support our customers with better strategic decision making across the enterprise. They helped us realize the applicability of our product for a broader market.”

Most organizations are proficient at collecting data and know a lot about their customers’ behavior as a result. (illustration: show mapped customer journeys) However, many of those same organizations fail to realize that analytics has limited power unless woven into the fabric of business processes and the greater operational context of the organization. Without this, the root-causes underlying trends are difficult to discover and the patterns that do emerge will only deliver results for a discrete part of the value chain.

Built upon Office 365 and Visio, Mavim offers a user-friendly platform that provides business leaders the the necessary visibility to improve their customer experience management. By aligning external, customer facing KPIS with internal operational KPIS, Mavim creates the full organizational context within which customer journey optimization strategies can be applied.

Mavim recognized for the second time in the Gartner Strategy Execution Management Market Guide

Strategy Mapping

Gartner Inc., a leading industry analyst firm has listed digital transformation vendor Mavim as a Representative Vendor in its November 2018 “Market Guide for Strategy Execution Management Software”*. This market guide focused primarily on EPMOs, strategy realization and portfolio management leaders in search of tooling to support the execution of digital business strategy.

According to Gartner’s own definition “People make thousands of decisions every day, bounded by understandings they have and, many times, by their own self interests. For strategy execution and supporting SEM tools, it is not only the ability to communicate and manage the strategies of the organization, but even more importantly to also indicate the degree to which people, in-flight projects and programs, and ongoing assets are delivering the desired metrics that indicate the degree to which the strategy is being executed and achieved. Strategy should always drive what we decide to do and how we decide to do it.”

The CEO of Mavim, Jean-Jacques Vossen, noted that “Mavim is honored to have been included as a representative vendor for the second year running. Our product development will continue to focus on simplifying the communication of strategy across every layer of the organization – and enabling strategy realization leaders the ability to connect strategies, metrics and resources with business processes as well as the actual and anticipated results of plans, projects and assets."

Built upon Office 365 and Visio, Mavim provides software that empowers business leaders to select and execute projects that will contribute to corporate strategy. In collaboration with our partners, Mavim supports a variety of frameworks that simplify alignment by providing a step-by-step guide. By leveraging one of the numerous strategy execution frameworks in Mavim, organizations are able to align future plans with in-flight projects, existing assets, and strategic goals and objectives in order to visualize the interdependencies that impede successful project execution. Mavim provides a graphical interface that dynamically illustrates complex interrelationships and depicts the relationship between strategy, innovation, and the state of execution over time.

Mavim mentioned in Gartner Market Guide for Business Ecosystem Modeling

ecosystem

Gartner Inc., a leading industry analyst firm has listed digital transformation vendor Mavim as a Representative Vendor in its October 2018 “Market Guide for Business Ecosystem Modeling and Analysis Software”*. Business ecosystem modeling is defined by Gartner as a “dynamic network of entities (people, business and things) interacting with each other to create and exchange sustainable value for participants.”

According to Gartner, this is a nascent functionality that is currently emerging to support the long-established academic concept of business ecosystems. Today, this market will primarily target Enterprise Architects looking to further establish an outside in view of their external relationship. This helps support initiatives like “Customer First, Patient First, Citizen First.” However, as this market develops, Gartner expects vendors to address additional use cases such as strategy execution, blockchain relationships, and fraud detection.

The CEO of Mavim, Jean-Jacques Vossen, noted that “Mavim is pleased to have been recognized as a representative vendor in this emerging market. We have a number of customers--in particular in the Government and Financial Services industries--who are looking to reduce the complexity involved in orchestrating myriad external suppliers and services. Our product will continue to focus on supporting our customers with better strategic decision making. This mention helps strengthen our resolve in our product’s direction.”

Mavim continues to focus on enhancing ease of use at the senior management level. Relative to previous years, Mavim has upped the capabilities of the platform by introducing process mining to help close the strategy to execution loop. Not only are organizations supported in modeling and analyzing their business ecosystems, but they will now also be supported with fact-based insight into how information passes through the ecosystem in the “as is” state. This has given Mavim a strong position among large consulting firms and system integrators.

Mavim mentioned in Gartner Enterprise Business Process Analysis Market Guide 2018

EBPA

Gartner Inc., a leading industry analyst firm has listed digital transformation vendor Mavim as a Representative Vendor in its November 2018 “Market Guide for Enterprise Business Process Analysis”*. Enterprise Business Process Analysis (EBPA) is a discipline that helps enterprise architects and technology innovation leaders improve business performance and business outcomes through business and process modeling.

According to Gartner, the two key principles of EBPA are "see the whole" and "understand the value network." The move towards EBPA (as opposed to the more traditional BPA) indicates a market focus on the democratization of process improvement and knowledge dissemination. Compared to previous years, Gartner has indicated that the demand from the market for business ecosystem modeling support has increased, as organizations look to extend their BPA capabilities to external partners that play a major role in their digital transformation initiatives.

The CEO of Mavim, Jean-Jacques Vossen, noted that “Mavim is pleased to have been included as a representative vendor for the fourth straight year. Our product and focus is on the democratization and dissemination of knowledge within an organization in order to support our customers with better strategic decision making. This mention helps strengthen our resolve in our product’s direction.”

Mavim was highlighted for its easy to use capabilities and Microsoft focus. Relative to previous years, Mavim has upped the product capabilities by introducing process mining to help close the strategy to execution loop. Not only are organizations supported in modeling and analyzing their operating models, but they will now also be supported with fact-based insight into how processes are running in the “as is” state. This has given Mavim a strong position among large consulting firms and system integrators.

Mavim mentioned in the Gartner CRM Vendor Guide 2018

CRM

Gartner Inc., a leading industry analyst firm has listed digital transformation vendor Mavim as a Representative Vendor in its May 2018 CRM Vendor Guide”*. This vendor guide focused primarily on supporting application leaders in the area of CRM and customer experience with an understanding of the market scope and the tools that comprise it.

The Vendor Guide also provided a number of strategic planning assumptions about the direction of the market, including “By 2020, the CRM application software market will overtake the data management market, thus becoming the largest of all software markets. Gartner expects CRM market growth to be consistently above 10% until 2022, following multiple strong years of investment. The outlook continues to be positive throughout the forecast period, with an overall compound annual growth rate of 13.5% as buyers focus on technologies that enable more targeted customer journeys and interactions in multichannel environments.”

It is precisely this focus on customer journey optimization that gained Mavim recognition in the CRM Vendor Guide under the category “Customer Analytics”. To be crystal clear, Mavim does not provide a CRM tool – but rather a transformation platform that aligns external customer facing KPIs with internal operational KPIs. This helps business leaders to understand the full operational context when making decisions about how and where to optimize customer journeys. Mavim creates the full organizational context within which customer journey optimization strategies can be applied. Jean Jacques Vossen, CEO of Mavim said this about Mavim’s recent inclusion in the Vendor Guide: “It is a great honor to be mentioned among software giants. However, we want to be clear that our focus is on helping organizations understand and optimize their journeys in the context of the operating model, thereby providing them better insight for critical decision making.”

Mavim mentioned in the Gartner Enterprise Business Process Analysis Market Guide 2017

EBPA

Gartner Inc., a leading industry analyst firm has listed digital transformation vendor Mavim as a Representative Vendor in its June 2017 “Market Guide for Enterprise Business Process Analysis”*. Enterprise Business Process Analysis (EBPA) is a discipline that helps enterprise architects and technology innovation leaders improve business performance and business outcomes through business and process modeling.

According to Gartner, “EBPA is based on the principles of collaboration; short cycle delivery; lightweight, but robust, modeling (see Note 1); and model governance. The two key principles of EBPA are "see the whole" and "understand the value network." The move towards EBPA (as opposed to the more traditional BPA) indicates a market focus on the democratization of process improvement and knowledge dissemination. Process performance improvement can be best effectuated by involving a larger group. The days of process architects and analysts working in their ivory tower to improve operational performance are over. The market focus has shifted to being able to provide business leaders with a holistic view that supports multiple view points and facilitates cross function analysis.

The CEO of Mavim, Jean-Jacques Vossen, noted that “Mavim is honored to have been included as a representative vendor. Our product and focus is on the democratization and dissemination of knowledge within an organization in order to support our customers with better strategic decision making. Being established as a leading example of a Business Operating System helps strengthen our resolve in our product’s direction.”

Mavim was highlighted for its easy to use capabilities and Microsoft focus. Gartner: Mavim is “Business Process Analysis for the Masses”

EBPA

In the Market Guide for Enterprise Business Process Analysis (EBPA) published in March 2015, Gartner named Mavim as a leader in the “strategy-to-execution” use case. Noting the user-friendly Microsoft application format, analyst Marc Kerremans boldly called Mavim the standard of BPA for the masses.

EBPA was defined by Gartner as business modeling that aims to improve performance through providing transparency into an organization’s processes while simultaneously providing insight into the connection with the organization’s external network. As a group, EBPA tools have capabilities that expand beyond traditional process modeling. Gartner broke down the vendors into four “use cases”: strategy-to-execution, business process analysis, enterprise architecture and business process automation.

Kerreman noted two primary drivers of the adoption of EBPA tools in the market. The first is the digitization of the business world. While the traditional user of BPA tools was confined to IT managers or business analysts, the digitization of the workplace is prompting organizations to apply enterprise-wide BPA concepts in order to make extant processes clear and modifiable on a larger scale. The second driver of EBPA tools is the breakneck speed of innovation. For a company to remain viable, it has to respond quicker and more effectively to myriad changes. The discipline of EBPA is aimed at making large companies more agile through providing a communal understanding of business processes. This, in turn, allows companies to increase the probability of executing successful projects.

Within the four EBPA use cases, “strategy-to-execution” was named by Kerreman as the up-and-comer in the EBPA market. Also calling this use case “BPA for the business,” Kerreman noted the growing audience comes from its digital business theme. As the name indicates, practitioners aim to improve the transition from strategy creation to its successful implementation. The use case “strategy to execution” provides contextual models that allow the user to question the added value of a particular target or the impact of the required changes. In essence, the created model allows an organization to seek continual improvement without diminishing the underlying strategy. In Kerreman's own words, “This kind of tool has the opportunity to become an essential part of any business transformation initiative and certainly could help in guiding digital business initiatives by operationalizing the goals of these initiatives and providing feedback after or during execution.”

While EBPA as a discipline seeks to please the most technically literate user as well as most basic end-user, the “strategy to execution” use case as whole is characterized by a lack of focus on the people who will be carrying out the strategic projects. Mavim stands out, however, as the only “strategy to execution” leader that is able to put the focus back on the end-user. The power of the Mavim solution lies in its ability to communicate change across an entire organization in a recognizable Microsoft application format, which enhances the adoption rate of the necessary transformation. Mavim’s philosophy is that the transformation of an organization’s business processes can only be as successful as the people who are able to understand and execute that change. In an emerging discipline, Mavim is perfectly positioned to usher in a new, more democratic style of enterprise transformation: business process analysis for the masses.

Mavim cited as Representative Vendor in Gartner’s Market Guide for Technologies Supporting a Digital Twin of an Organization

DTO

AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands — July 25, 2018 — Gartner Inc., a leading industry analyst firm has listed digital transformation vendor Mavim as a Representative Vendor in its July 2018 “Market Guide for Technologies Supporting a DTO”*. A DTO is a digital twin of the organization. A digital twin of the organization helps EA and technology innovation leaders prioritize, guide, plan, monitor, analyze and scale complex initiatives.

If you’ve heard of a digital twin before, you’re not alone. They’ve been in use for years in the industrial sector to aid in the optimization and maintenance of physical assets. They connect data from sensors in order to create living digital replicas that change as their counterparts change.

Digital Twin of an Organization takes the same concept and extends it to people, processes and systems. (also know as the foundation of every organization). Connecting this information provides insight into how an organization is deploying its resources and delivering customer value. Think of a DTO like Waze for the Executive Team. You know where you want to go – and you think you know how to get there but you can’t predict where the traffic jams or the speed traps are. The most efficient route is generated by inputting your destination and connecting every asset that falls within the context of your organization to help navigate and anticipate obstacles as they emerge.

Jean-Jacques Vossen, Mavim’s CEO had the following to say about the recent inclusion in the market guide, “Mavim is proud to be included as a representative vendor in this groundbreaking new area of research. We’ve had large customers leveraging Mavim as a DTO for years, but it is great that Gartner has confirmed that this is where the market is headed. Digital business leaders are beginning to understand the impact that a tool like Mavim can have for complex organizations.”

Mavim came out with a strong positioning as the only Dutch vendor included in the list but also as the only vendor with a Microsoft focus, which supports the claims about “ease of use”. Mavim was also positioned as the showcase for customer experience optimization, which Marc Kerremans has previously established as the use case with the most potential impact in 12 Powerful Use Cases for Creating a Digital Twin of your Organization**.
