Interview
Unigarant, a subsidiary of the ANWB, is a Dutch insurance company known for its innovative products and services and excellent customer service. In this interview, Lammert Kalfsbeek, Business Process Manager at Unigarant, talks about the challenges Unigarant faced and how Mavim helped them address these challenges.
What were Unigarant's biggest challenges?
One of the biggest challenges Unigarant faced was demonstrating that they were in control of their processes and risks. This was especially important in the financial world, where strict regulations apply. Unigarant needed a tool that allowed them to record their processes, register risks and gain insight into their processes and risks. Bringing these worlds together was a big challenge for them, so they went looking for a tool that could support this.
What has Mavim brought Unigarant?
Unigarant chose Mavim to help them demonstrate that they are in control of their operations and its improvements. With Mavim, Unigarant can:
- Capture and map processes;
- Identify, assess and manage risks;
- Comply with laws and regulations (ISO and ESG for example);
- Gain insight into their processes and risks;
- Report on their processes and risks to stakeholders.
If you know what you are doing, you can also ask yourself why you are doing it. That way you can continuously improve and anticipate a rapidly changing environment. This allowed Unigarant to ask itself the question, ''How are we doing as an organization and how do you put the customer at the center of the work you do?'' This led to continuous improvement such as working smarter, faster and more customer-oriented.
How did they do it? Where did they start?
Mavim brought good support to work out Unigarant's wishes and needs in the tool. Think about support in: how to build it, how to tackle it and what will be the structure? This support has always been there and help is always included. The knowledge is well imparted and regular sessions are organized to make the implementation run more smoothly. The online training sessions in the Mavim platform also helped with this and ensured that everything went smoothly.
Why did you choose this platform?
There was looked at different tooling but Mavim was the only tool in which you could capture multiple aspects. At Unigarant, the real challenge was to secure BPM, risks and laws and regulations in one and the same tool. That is why Mavim was chosen. The tooling is designed to allow you to report and publish everything you need.
It offers one central place for the entire organization, it really is a blueprint that helps us navigate. It is and always will be a tool but it's important that you do get a tool that can actually help you and is approachable. That way it's more workable and easier for the organization to implement.
''If you capture everything as an organization you have a good foundation and you get good results from that. I grant you all a Mavim''. According to Lammert Kalfsbeek.
